So many people skip a healthy breakfast because they are always in a hurry. However, your mom was/is right, breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Why? According to research, breakfast kick-starts your metabolism which helps you burn calories throughout the day. It also gives you the energy you need to help accomplish your days goals and it helps you maintain your focus. 

According to Web MD, many studies have linked eating breakfast to good health, including better memory and concentration, lower levels of “bad” LDL cholesterol, and lower chances of getting diabetes, heart disease, and being overweight. 
So don’t skip a healthy nutritious morning meal, do skip the drive thru and instead get up a few minutes early doing your mind and body a favor.  This morning I opted for an omlet with sautéed mushrooms and spinach, whole wheat toast and a fresh fruit parfait.  Parfaits are simple, healthy and delicious. Simply layer your favorite granola, yogurt and fresh fruit. Just be careful when choosing granola and stay away from those with high sugar content.
