This post isn’t about food or even a food tip, rather friendship and good old country music! Yesterday, I had the pleasure of catching up with a girl friend that I hadn’t seen since high school. FaceBook is such a great tool for reconnecting! Carrie Christine is an up and coming country musician, from Texas, and was being featured in a showcase here in Nashville, TN🎤 Not only is she beautiful inside and out, but she’s incredibly talented. I’ve included her bio below, she’s definitely worth a few minutes of your time to check out. You can find her on iTunes under Carrie Christine, Twitter @CCTexangirl and Facebook.
Carrie Christine is an Up and Coming Texas Country Music Artist with a Rock Vibe. She gravitates towards the sounds of Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert, but has powerhouse vocals and edginess that rivals Gretchen Wilson with added charm reminiscent of Shania Twain. Her songs have a rock vibe that leave her fans wanting more! Carrie finds herself at home on stage. “I am nervous 3 days before a show, but the minute I am on the stage the nerves melt away.” says Carrie. She has been singing in church all her life, but has always had a desire to sing country music. Carrie put her dreams on a shelf for far to long until one night changed her life forever. New Years night 2012, her friend Barbee, a huge country music fan from Nashville, rented a party bus and loaded it with friends. When the bus arrived at the famous FireHouse Saloon in Houston Texas, her friends told Carrie that she was going to sing. After a little persuasion Carrie jumped on the stage, took the mic, and belting out a Reba McIntire song a-cappella… the crowd went crazy. Tom Imber, owner of FireHouse Saloon and Badlands 94.7, approached Carrie to book her for a show in 2 weeks. Carrie explained to Tom that she did not do shows, but Tom did not take “no” for an answer. Tom explained that he had just returned from Music Fest in Steamboat Springs Colorado and nobody had “pipes” like hers. So, Carrie took a leap of faith and sang in her first acoustic show only two weeks later. She attracted over 150 people to her first show and then was quickly introduced to music producer Billy Hillman, owner of HillTrax recording studio. At HillTrax, she learned she had a love for co-writing songs along with her producer Billy. The process of breathing life into a song is the most amazing part of all of this for me.” says Carrie. I will be writing songs forever! Her self titled EP that was released in April of 2013 has her signature song Texas Girls. “Texas Girls was my reply to Katy Perry’s famous pop song California Girls. If there is going to be a song written about girls in the USA, it better be about Texas Girls. Texas Girls rock,” says Carrie. The EP also has the catchy and fun song about a teenage girl wrecking her daddy’s red GTO called Stick Shift Blues and the beautiful ballad Coming Home, about a soldier returning from the war to find something special waiting for him. Carrie Christine will soon be Texas Country Music’s next Phenomenon. She has the vocals, she has the stage presence, the personality, the look, and most importantly she has great songs. The songs are what will push an artist over the edge and Carrie Christine has got the songs. The future is bright for this up and coming Country Music Star.
