Super quick and light desserts, that take very little effort and everyone will love are a must during the summer. What’s better than fresh berries and home madewhipped cream with a little grand marnier glaze? You can use any berries that you have on hand, I used sliced strawberries. Additionally, you can use dream whip or cool whip if you prefer. I like home made whipped cream because you completely control the flavor and sweetness (I’ve been told that I’m a control freak).
- Sliced berries, sweetened if necessary
- Sliced, store bought, pound cake
- 1/2 tsp grand marnier
- 1 C powdered sugar
- 1 – 1 1/2 tsp milk
- Whipped cream of your choosing
Glaze: mix grand marnier and powdered sugar, add milk a little at a time until you achieve the consistency of a glaze. You want it to drizzle easily.
If you are making home made whipped cream, I find that a chilled bowl works best and helps reduce time. Add 3/4 C heavy whipping cream to bowl, beat until it begins to thicken then add 3 TB sugar and 1 tsp vanilla. Continue beating until soft peaks form.
Place 2 slices of pound cake on a plate, drizzle with glaze, top with strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream. Dust with powdered sugar.
