Rice Krispy treats take me back to my childhood. These treats were probably one of the 1st things I ever made, I mean they are pretty simple and you most likely have everything you need in your pantry. This version is my “grown up” version, at least I feel more like an adult when eating the whole pan. Haha!
Preheat oven to 350, spray 8×11 baking dish
- 1/4 C butter
- 1/4 (heaping) C peanut butter. I prefer creamy but you may use crunchy
- 10 oz Marshmallows; around 40 lg
- Pinch of sea salt
- 5-6 C Rice Krispies
- 1 C butterscotch chips
In large saucepan, over medium heat, melt peanut butter, butter and marshmallows; stirring constantly. When mixture is smooth, add pinch of salt and Rice Krispies; mix until combined. Pour in sprayed 8×11 dish. Sprinkle chips on top and pop in to preheated oven & turn oven off. Let sit in hot oven for 3-4 mins, remove and spread melted chips evenly over top. Cool before serving.
Tip: spray pan and spoon with non stick spray to prevent mixture from sticking
Tip: a cute kids version of this; use white chips and once melted chips are evenly spread on treats, sprinkle with multi colored candy sprinkles
