Beautiful, sunny, warm weather always calls for bbq’s and get togethers. This strawberry trifle is a perfect dessert for those perfect evenings. This would also be a nice Mother’s Day brunch dessert.
- 2 quarts strawberries, rinsed and sliced (reserve 3/4 C)
- 2 C heavy whipping cream
- 1 C sour cream
- 1 C milk
- 1 3oz package vanilla instant pudding
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Store bought angel food cake, cubed
In a large mixing bowl (I find that using a stainless steel bowl that has been chilled works best) whip milk, sour cream, pudding, whipping cream and vanilla until thick. Layer 1/2 cubed cake in the bottom of a trifle dish, 1/2 sliced strawberries, 1/2 pudding mixture and repeat. Top with reserved C of strawberries. Enjoy!
