What has happened to the quality of food and service in restaurants today, particularly chains? I remember, when I first moved to TN and ate at O’Charleys; I loved it.  O’Charleys had the best bread, chicken tenders and pie. Over the years, as it seems with so many other chains, the quality and flavor of the food has decreased significantly.  It’s almost as though everything is packaged, pre-prepared or frozen and reheated. You get a basket of flat, cold bread that is lifeless; granted the bread is still free.  I am generalizing and of course not all restaurants fit in this mold; it is just my opinion and observation. I’m thankful for the mom and pop restaurants and diners that prepare and “cook” fresh food on a daily basis.
