If you know me, you know how passionate I am about my fur babies.  I have 3 dogs and 4 cats; 2 of those are foster failures and 3 are rescues. I love all animals and am that girl that ALWAYS stops to say hi to dogs and cats.  A neighborhood boy once rang my doorbell, as his cat was missing, to ask if by chance I had her because he had heard I loved animals and rescued them.  I guess I’m the neighborhood “animal/cat” lady. I’ve also been known to have “bark day” parties, at the dog park, to celebrate my babies birthday; complete with a goody bag filled with homemade treats for everyone.  My dogs love jerky and rather than buying it, I make it at home.

Microwave jerky

I package hot dogs, I use turkey dogs

Directions:
Cut the hot dogs into thin strips. Place a few layers of paper towels on a microwave safe plate, add the strips and microwave on HIGH for 4-5 min. Take them out of the microwave and let stand for 5 min then flip them over and put them back into the microwave and cook for another 4-5 min. Let them cool and repeat if necessary. You will know they are done when after cooled they are in a “jerky” state.

Store the hot dog “jerky” in the refrigerator.

You can’t get any easier than that and you control what your fur baby is eating!
